Artist Bio

Alternative-pop/rock duo Jenna & Luke, aka Bird Machine, a pair of lovers from Hamilton, New Zealand, and Geelong, Australia. Their original music combines their distinct musical sensibilities to create a signature, dreamy rock and pop aesthetic. Adding cover songs from a variety of genres to their set, the pair can play up to five hours of music for any type of event.

While there may only be two of them, the pair are multi-instrumentalists and bring acoustic and electric guitar, keyboard, cajon drum and other percussion, harmonica, and their harmonious voices to their gigs. This creates a very full and engaging musical atmosphere, one that can be tuned into the background for casual listening or brought to the forefront as a main feature of your event.

Between the two of them, Luke and Jenna have over 40 years of performing experience, from underground music venues to festival stages, hotel bars to corporate events, weddings and birthday parties. Bird Machine have an on-going gig with the Novotel Hotel. They’ve recently played events for Harcourts Real Estate and the Seddon Cricket Club. For the cricket club, they played events that featured Ross Taylor (former NZ national team captain) and Kane Williamson (NZ cricketer). Notably, they opened a show as a duo for Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox (from New York City, 6 million subscribers on YouTube) and performed as a pair for the final runway show of high-profile event Catwalk4Cancer in Geelong, Australia.

Bird Machine takes the stress out of coordinating music for your event by supplying and setting up their own gear, with a PA system powerful enough for most venues.

Their original music recently attracted around 7,800 monthly listeners on Spotify. Their first single, Our Kind, made it into Dunedin’s Radio One Top 11. Their latest single Closure, recently made number one on LifeFM’s YouChart, and was in the top three most played tracks on LifeFM for the month of November 2023 (according to https://www.radio-stations.co.nz/life-fm).

You can also book Bird Machine as a Three Piece Party Band.
