Artist Bio
The man behind Black Pug is Mo Ackermann, who is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Brazil. He’s been part of the Queenstown live music scene for 17 years playing in the local bars, private events and weddings. Sharing the stage with artist like Katchafire, Jason Kerrison, Rusty Anderson (guitarist for Paul McCartney) and headlining the Main Stage for New Years Eve in Queenstown and Wanaka. For most events his band runs as a 2 piece with vocals/guitar, bass and backing tracks for drums (diligently recorded and produced by Mo in his home studio). This set up works really well for small to mid size venues, is very cost effective and takes less space but still sounds like a full band. For larger events they have the option to bring in a real drummer which adds to the visual experience, and all in all, always delivering a high energy party vibe!
