They were absolutely amazing!!! I felt that their music was fitting to the event and catered for everyone. “The Renegades played at our Tauranga wedding in March and they were an absolute hit!! Having seen them already at a friend’s wedding the year before, we knew they had a great sound and could entertain a crowd, but they completely exceeded our expectations. Every song they played had people up and dancing, even the bride’s 93 year old grandfather. The guests can’t stop talking about the live music, all remarking that the band had created the best atmosphere for our celebration. The venue owners also mentioned The Renegades are one of the best bands they have seen play and were up dancing themselves too.
Chris and the crew were easy to deal with, took our requests on board and even played our wedding dance live. The rest of the setlist was bang on and suited our setting (farmyard/barn) to a tee. They also don’t need a full drum kit as they play through a mic’d up Cajon box which sounds amazing, but also a big plus for us as the venue had strict sound control requirements that this helped fufill. We would highly recommend The Renegades if you want that X factor at your big day.

They are professional, friendly, and very organised! We had an intimate wedding in a vineyard and hired them for the afternoon cocktail hour – they gauged the atmosphere and played at the perfect level of volume. Everyone got up and danced on a very warm afternoon. All of our guests kept commenting on how great they were – from the choice of songs they played, amazing vocals, great balanced instruments (I especially love the Cajun drum, and harmonica sections!) Even my dad who is usually very shy, went up and sang along when you played his favourite song ‘Take me home, Country Roads’. You will definitely be seeing our guests and us at your future gigs around Auckland!

Seriously though, we first heard you guys play at The Riverhead last year. I heard your arrangement of Dancing in the Dark and I was just blown away. The next day, I said to Aaron that if we ever got married (we were together for over 7 years at that stage and I wasn’t sure it was ever going to happen!), then I would really like The Renegades at our wedding. Aaron agreed and the rest is history. To be completely honest, I asked him to change the date of the wedding as you were not available on the day we had on hold!
The atmosphere was incredible and everything was so professional. The music, arrangements, and set list were fantastic and exactly what we enjoy. Thank you for making it such a memorable night. We will recommend you to everyone we can. Thank you again!
