Sean Tinker

Sean Tinker was absolutely outstanding.

We booked Sean to perform at our dinner at Flame in Queenstown for a group of around 100 guests. The original plan was simply to have some quality live music playing in the background while everyone enjoyed dinner. What unfolded instead became one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip.

Sean has a fantastic ability to read a room. He eased into the evening, worked out what the crowd responded to and gradually lifted the energy. Before long, a few people were on their feet, then a few more, and eventually more than half the room was dancing, singing along and having an incredible time. What was meant to be background entertainment had completely transformed into a brilliant live performance and an atmosphere you simply couldn’t have planned.

Sean was originally booked for two sets with a meal break in between, but once he had the room going there was no stopping him. He played for around four hours virtually non-stop and, when everyone was calling for more, somehow found another half hour to finish the night on an absolute high. By the end he’d given everything he had to the performance.

What impressed us most was that none of it felt forced or rehearsed. Sean genuinely connected with the crowd and seemed to enjoy the night every bit as much as we did. The space available to him was tiny, there was certainly no planned dance floor, and yet somehow the whole thing just came together.

Every now and then you get one of those completely unexpected, unscripted nights that people continue talking about long afterwards. This was one of them, and Sean was a huge part of what made it so special.

An exceptional musician, entertainer and performer. We couldn’t recommend Sean highly enough. If you’re looking for live entertainment in Queenstown, book him — you won’t regret it
