Artist Bio

Sandy Lynch is a highly experienced cocktail pianist, having performed across Auckland for many years. Her repertoire spans light jazz, nostalgia, easy listening, contemporary, movie songs and themes, show tunes, latin, and audience requests. Sandy is recognised for her unique style, proficiency in reading chord charts and lead sheets, and is adept at accompanying both singers and instrumentalists.

Beginning formal piano studies at the age of four, Sandy developed a strong classical foundation while also mastering modern styles by ear. She studied jazz piano with Mike Walker, a renowned figure in Auckland which led her to performance in ensembles such as duos, trios, and quartets.

She has played as a solo cocktail pianist for many years. Her performances include memorised renditions across a wide variety of styles, demonstrating versatility and musicality.

• ATCL Diploma in Piano Performance

• Berkleemusic Online – Master Certificate for Orchestration for Film & TV, including modules in film scoring, music production, orchestration, songwriting, arranging and publications with a GPA of 4.000 (93-100%)
