Samuel Cooper is a Wellington-based solo pianist known for creating elegant and memorable live music experiences for weddings, corporate events, and private functions. His versatile repertoire spans timeless classics from the 1950s to today’s favourites, enriched with touches of jazz, blues, and original compositions. Since taking his music from his bedroom to the stage in 2022, Samuel has become a familiar name across Wellington’s hospitality and live music scene. His performances include events such as the Wellington GOLD Awards, Academy of Fine Arts exhibition openings, and regular residencies at venues including the James Cook Hotel, IBIS Hotel, and local retirement communities.
Renowned for his ability to “read the room,” Samuel curates the perfect soundtrack to match any atmosphere — from intimate wedding ceremonies to lively corporate gatherings. He welcomes client input when crafting setlists and is known for his skill in learning and playing songs by ear, often accommodating spontaneous requests on the spot. His goal is simple: to uplift, inspire, and leave a lasting impression through the power of live piano music.
