Artist Bio
Josh Pow is a English singer/guitarist originally from Bristol, England but moved to the beautiful Mount Maunganui from the age of 14. Shortly after Turning 16 Josh started busking 3-4 times a week quickly picking up gigs at private parties and local bars. Josh now has 10 years plus experience playing to a range of crowds all over NZ, playing anything from barn parties in Matamata to high brow weddings on Waiheke island. Josh’s sound influences include John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeran and Black seeds. Josh also performs as a duo as Pow Wow Music. Josh can offer a Live acoustic guitarist/singer for your ceremony as well as post ceremony for cocktail hour & canapes. He can offer a wireless mic during dinner for your speeches and of course his duo ‘Pow Wow‘ party band playing all the hits from all eras through to the end of the night.

Josh and Nick played at our wedding reception a few weeks ago. They played such a great mix of music that got everyone up dancing. We all had the best time and danced the night away! They were so accommodating too. We requested a song for our first dance that they were happy to learn and it was perfect, they played/sung it so well, it made it all the more special. We would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Josh played to our guests before our wedding ceremony and after – it created a beautiful atmosphere at our garden wedding. He also learnt a special song of ours which we used for our aisle song and he absolutely nailed it. We had Josh and Nick play together in the marquee for our reception and they had everyone dancing until they stopped – and everyone yelling “encore!’ once it was over. They made our wedding day so special and everyone commented on how amazing they were!

Josh played at our wedding in our back yard on Saturday night. As it was a long weekend a lot of our guests have been filtering through in the days since and everyone without fail has commented on how great the musician was.
From the moment the formalities were over and we hit the dance floor it was not empty for the rest of the night.
While we were having dinner and speeches, I spotted Josh helping the caterers. Really appreciated.

As a Bay of Plenty local and having heard Josh play around the Bay and at Weddings before, making sure Pow Wow were available for our day was one of the first details I locked in. Not only did they take care of the ceremony music at a different location, they were great at reading the crowd playing something for everyone and had dance floor cranking all night, we didn’t want the party to end! Josh played for us at our wedding in the Coromandel – and was a massive hit with all of our guests. He organised playing the songs for our ceremony through his sound system & then played an acoustic set during “cocktail hour” – which all of our guests couldn’t stop raving about! Then we had ‘Pow Wow’ play later – which got everyone (young & old) up on the dance-floor. Josh was really easy to deal with in the lead-up to our wedding & was exactly what we were after on the day. Definitely recommend!!
