Jimmy Rainey

Jimmy Rainey is a Sax player  based in Ōtautahi. Jimmy is known for his sets alongside DJs at Music Venues and Festivals with artists from Aotearoa and across the world. Jimmy is an award-winning graduate of the Ara MusicArts programme here in Christchurch, and in 2019 he completed further study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in The Netherlands. These qualifications – along with years of teaching and performing experience – means that he has a number of tools and resources to excel in his live performances. Jimmy has worked and performed with artists including Snarky Puppy, Bob Mintzer, Reinier Baas, John Clayton, Terell Stafford, Dick Oatts, Jesse van Ruller, Miho Hazama, Scribe, Jong Metropole and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
