What an awesome band, and good group of guys. I reached out regarding availability for our wedding. He got back to me efficiently, and touched base regularly throughout the planning process leading up to our big day. He made himself available for phone calls, messaging, emails and also encouraged us to come to watch their band perform at other venues to get an idea of the kind of music they can play. He emailed us 3 different set lists, but what we loved most was his indication that they can chop and change music to suit the mood of the day. This is a band who can read ambience and atmosphere, and play along to the beat of the evening, all while taking requests from guests in between. This was one of the things we appreciated most – we could have given them a succinct list of what to play in which order etc, but the fact that they knew their craft took all the stress off of us.
They are brilliant musicians. Fluent in a range of instruments, and have quality sound equipment to accompany their voices. More importantly, they interacted with our guests during their sets.
In the afternoon, they played 2 hours of an acoustic set, as our guests sat and enjoyed the Raglan summer afternoon sun with drinks and nibbles etc. The vibe was really relaxing and mellow. Again, Marcus was able to effortlessly churn out easy-listening tunes (we didn’t even get back to him with what set list we wanted, he just organised the whole thing). The music helped to create a warm and chilled atmosphere which is exactly what we were hoping for on our wedding day.
The evening set was on point. Marcus allowed me to sing our first dance song to my wife as a surprise – he prepared all the equipment, made the whole organisation completely seamless, and had everything prepped at short notice, something we’re really grateful for. He played everything in the evening set – all the bangers of the 70s right through. On top of that, they took all the requests that guests threw their way, had friendly banter with the guests, and always took time to acknowledge my wife and I throughout the night.
All-in-all, I couldn’t recommend these guys highly enough. An absolute pleasure to deal with professionally, outstanding entertainers who bring an awesome and fun-loving vibe to their gigs. We could not have been happier with the music they brought to our wedding, and how easy they made things for us.
If anyone is looking for a 5-star band for any event they’re hosting, this is it. Thanks to you and your team for making our day awesome.

It was absolutely fantastic, Marc and his band member were unbelievably awesome, read the room to perfection. I played bouncer , who knew 21 year olds want to be so close to the band!!!!!! Better Band saved the day for our Son’s party and Black and Gold made the party epic. Cannot thank you all enough.
