Artist Bio

Ariana Henare is a Hawke’s Bay–based singer-songwriter whose music is defined by soulful vocals, emotional depth, and a strong sense of connection to people and place. Known initially for her powerful live performances, Ariana has built a loyal following across the lower North Island through years of consistent gigging, festival appearances, and community events.

Her sound draws from soul, acoustic pop, folk, and contemporary roots music, with an emphasis on storytelling and vocal warmth. Ariana’s strength lies in her ability to deliver songs with authenticity and feeling, creating performances that feel intimate and grounded whether on large stages or in stripped-back settings.

Ariana has performed at major New Zealand festivals including Rhythm and Vines, and has shared stages with respected Aotearoa artists such as Tiki Taane, Hollie Smith, Bic Runga, and Shapeshifter. These experiences have shaped her as a confident and versatile performer with a strong understanding of audience connection.

In 2023, Ariana released her debut single Golden, marking a clear transition from live-focused performer to recording artist. Alongside her solo work, she has also featured as a guest vocalist on the song Mauri, demonstrating her ability to collaborate across genres and contribute meaningfully to kaupapa-driven music.

Now focused on expanding her recorded catalogue, Ariana is positioning herself as an emerging recording artist with national potential. This next release represents a deliberate step forward, building on her strong live foundation to establish a consistent and recognisable presence within the contemporary New Zealand music landscape.
