Antony Pickard

Antony Pickard has studied music from the age of five years old, he began on piano, then moved onto guitar and bass and took up singing with his first rock band at fifteen. 1988 saw him win both the Wellington Choral Festival Award and the first-ever ‘N.Z. Rock Quest’. He graduated from the CPIT Christchurch Jazz School in 1991 with a “Certificate in Jazz Performance” Following the success of corporate rock giant band “Kick” Antony began a hectic schedule of studio and recording sessions with the likes of McDonald’s, KFC, The All Blacks, Steinlager, Pizza Hut, Dominion Breweries, Toyota, The Hurricanes, Les Mills and Mitsubishi. He is currently based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and holds a busy schedule performing for Corporate clients, Private Functions, Weddings both National & International. He also boasts a long career of playing live in some of New Zealand’s best, bars, restaurants, and hotels. Antony is available solo or as part of his function band Headrush.
